Festival di Cannes
Il Festival di Cannes č un festival cinematografico di grande prestigio internazionale. Si svolge fin dal 1946, ogni anno nella cittadina di Cannes, nel sud della Francia. Alcune edizioni non si sono svolte durante la seconda guerra mondiale e a causa dei movimenti studenteschi del maggio 1968.Poichč garantisce una formidabile copertura da parte dei media, al Festival garantiscono la loro presenza molte star del cinema che si mostrano alla passerella (MontĂ©e de Marche) dell'ingresso nella sala delle proiezioni. Molti produttori scelgono questa occasione per lanciare le loro ultime realizzazioni e per vendere i diritti a distributori che vengono da tutto il mondo.
Il premio piů prestigioso che il Festival offre č la Palme d'Or ( Palma d'oro) come riconoscimento per il miglior film; talvolta viene concessa a piů film nella stessa edizione. La giuria del Festival, composta da un numero contenuto di professionisti del mondo del cinema, distribuisce anche altri premi fra cui risulta particolarmente ambito il Grand Prix (una sorta di secondo premio assegnato dalla giuria a opere meritevoli di menzione speciale).
